This week, our posts are a bit shorter than normal.

The reason for this, is to allow you time to really think about your own life, examining changes you may need/want to make. My goal is to provide you with Bible Verses and guiding questions to help you discover how God can and WANTS to help you accomplish just that.

The Beans:

Hearing God’s Message to YOU:

Read today’s verse once … what word or phrase stands out to you?

Read the verse a second timeWhat part of your life (what circumstance, relationship, struggle etc.) is this word or phrase speaking to?

Pause to pray, write, or just think, before you read today’s verse a final time.

The Verse:

1 Peter 5:8

“Be alert and of sober mind.

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion

looking for someone to devour.”

The Steam:

What does all of this mean to me/how can I apply that to my life today?

One major thing preventing us from living in the moment, is OURSELVES! We allow ourselves to fall under the “spell” of certain distractions.

(cough, cough) …. THE SMART PHONE!

I seriously wish I could find a verse in the Bible, where God explains the proper use of technology, but I guess there isn’t one, huh?

Satan is looking for us to be distracted, so that he can strike. If you want joy in your life, you’ve got to be very careful to identify when you’re becoming distracted with things that don’t matter. We need to be aware of the fact that Satan is extremely sneaky. He wants nothing more than for us to fall further and further away from God, away from positive habits that give us peace and joy.

Be mindful of your day, and the distractions that bring about negativity in your life, instead of peace and joy!
