WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT
By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users. This may include personal data, such as name, email address, personal account preferences; and technical data, such as information about cookies.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
COOKIES AND HOW WE USE THEM
By default WordPress does not collect any analytics data.
Like millions of other website owners, we do use the free Google Analytics software. This software grabs data about our web visitors (you).
What does Google Analytics record?
- What website you came from to get here.
- How long you stay for.
- What kind of computer you’re using.
- And quite a bit more.
What do we do with that Google Analytics data?
The tracking information allows us to better understand our visitors and customers who come to the site and what content they’re reading. This allows us to make better decisions about design, copy and more.
No personally identifying data is included in this type of reporting. Here is a link to Google Analytics Terms of Service.
Want to opt out of tracking?
WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
By default WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile indefinitely. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
